Parent & Spectator Expectations

At Inverloch Stars, we know that parents and spectators play a vital role in shaping the soccer experience. Whether cheering from the sidelines or helping behind the scenes, your support helps create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where players of all ages can thrive.

Here’s what we ask from all parents, carers, and supporters at the Stars:

1. Support Your Child’s Love of the Game

Encourage participation, but never force it. Let your child enjoy football on their terms — for fun, friendship, and growth.

2. Focus on Effort, Not Just Results

Praise persistence, learning, and improvement. Win or lose, what matters most is that your child enjoys playing and feels supported.

3. Keep It Positive

Cheer for great play from any team. Stay calm when things don’t go to plan. Avoid criticism, yelling, or sideline coaching — let the coach coach.

4. Be a Role Model

Your words and actions set the tone. Show respect to referees, coaches, players, and other spectators at all times.

5. Celebrate Fairness, Respect, and Team Spirit

Help your child understand that being a good teammate and showing sportsmanship is more important than scoring goals.

6. Let Kids Make Mistakes – It’s How They Learn

Mistakes are part of the game — and part of life. Offer encouragement, not pressure.

7. Respect the Referees and Officials

Referees (especially young ones) are learning too. Avoid arguing or questioning decisions. Raise concerns calmly, through the proper channels.

8. Value the Volunteers

Our club runs on the time, energy, and care of volunteers. Please treat them with kindness, patience, and gratitude — or even better, lend a hand!

9. Create a Welcoming Sideline for All

We are an inclusive, family-focused club. Offensive language, aggression, or discrimination of any kind has no place here.

10. Be Part of the Club, Not Just the Crowd

You’re part of the Stars family. Your positive support — whether it’s clapping a goal or helping pack up cones — helps us shine brighter.

11. Stay Connected and Communicate Clearly

It’s critically important that all parents and carers download and use TeamApp. This is how we share team info, game times, and updates. Please respond promptly — especially if your child can’t attend training or is unavailable for a match.
Clear communication makes a huge difference and helps our coaches and managers plan, prepare, and focus on what matters most: the players.

At Inverloch Stars, we grow confident kids, strong teams, and a united community — with your help.

Let’s make every game a great experience, for every child.
