Once players pass the age of Miniroos, they can enter the GSL Junior Competition, which offers competition soccer for children and young people aged 9 to 16. (Younger players may play in a higher division, subject to capability and club endorsement).

The GSL Junior Competition is designed to support children and young people to further develop their soccer capability, including key skills such as field structures, one and two-touch passing, controlling the ball, and striking.

Juniors offer mixed girl/boy teams the same as MiniRoos but also offers girls only teams for U12s and U15s.  Girls can play in mixed and girls only teams.

Game Day

GSL Junior Competition games are held on Sunday mornings, at grounds across South Gippsland. Games commence from 8:30am through until 1:00pm.

GSL Junior Competition games are at various venues across South Gippsland. They follow a rotating format similar to the A-League or English Premier League - some weeks teams will play at home, other weeks 'away' at another club's venue.

The GSL Junior Competition includes formal scoring processes, official referees, lines referees (assistant refs) from U12 onwards, and a league table (ladder) with finals.
